I had to replace the battery in my 1997 Acura 2.2 CL. With the battery out, the antitheft protection in the radio was activated. Does anyone know how to reset this? can it be cross-referenced from the VIN?

Some mid '00-present Acuras can display the serial number negating the need to pull the unit from the dash.

They don't show the radio code on any invoice I have ever had from my Acura dealer.

you need to remove the unit and supply the serial number

use google or bing

here's a quote from one of the results:

"Go to Acura.com..check owners site and sign in
There is a radio/navigation help site which allow you to retrieve your activation code online "

You should have the code supplied on a little card that came with the car when it was new. Nothing to do with the VIN. If you don't have it then you will need to call Acura or go the local dealer. I am sure that Acura will have the code in their records.
